Research
Our data, and how we gathered it.
When a post quotes a number, this is where the number comes from: the method in a paragraph, the finding in a line, and the counts to download and check yourself. A finding we cannot show the working for does not go on the site.
AI visibility survey: salons across twenty UK towns
Of the 138 named salons we could check, 101 had a website of their own: 73%, checked 8 September 2026.
Method
On 8 September 2026 we asked ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini one question, "best salon in <town>", across twenty UK towns, which is sixty questions in all. For every business an assistant named we looked for a website of its own in three steps: a Google Places search on the name and the town, then on the name alone, then one Google search, and we counted a directory, booking platform or social page as the business existing without a site of its own. The published dataset holds counts only. No business is named in it.
